Residential Status

Definition

Work

Entitled

Someone who has lived in Jersey for 10 years or more Can work anywhere and the Employer does not need a licence to employ you

Licenced

Someone who is an essential employee The Employer needs a licence to employ a licenced person

Entitled to Work

Someone who has lived in Jersey for five years without a break directly before the card is issued, or is married or is a civil partner to someone who is “Entitled” or “Licenced” or “Entitled to Work” Can work anywhere and the Employer does not need a licence to employ you

Registered

Someone who does not fall into the other groups An Employer needs a licence to employ a “registered” person
