Islanders who require help and guidance regarding draw down options on their local occupational/personal pensions should, in the first instance, contact the Pension Administrator at the particular Pension Fund. This service is often free but this should be checked on making first contact.

Following this, if there is a need for financial advice, then an Independent Financial Adviser, (IFA) regulated by the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC), may be contacted. Fees will apply.

For information regarding options available with regard to a UK based defined contribution pot, Pension Wise can be contacted. This is a service from MoneyHelper, backed by the UK government which offers free, impartial guidance to over 50s. For residents outside of the UK, advice will be limited to explaining options available to take money from defined Contribution pension pots excluding Jersey Tax legislation.
